Golf in the Eternal City
Only a short 20 minutes drive away from the Villa, in the heart of the eternal city and the Appian Way archeological park stands the first golf course to be built in Italy in 1903. The Circolo del Golf di Roma Acquasanta is the birthplace of Italian golf. Play an intricate old school course with centennial plants and trees, narrow fairways and small greens while admiring the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella and the arcs of the great acqueduct built by Emperor Claudius. The golf club is in fact located next to the Egeria Sources linked to the cult of the Nymph Egeria, the water was considered sacred and curative by the romans and still is today one of the favorite waters of the Romans.
